Teaching

I have been teaching foreign languages on and off for 7 years now. I believe that learning about different languages and cultures is a skill we need to make the world a more connected place. The language classroom is always a place of curiosity and conversation and as such, I always learn alongside my students. I find it extremely satisfying that whether you have taught a few phrases during one class or the ability to speak confidently after years of teaching, whatever knowledge you share can then be utilised practically in the real world.

It has been a joy to teach the three languages I speak fluently – English, Chinese and Spanish – in language classrooms in Glasgow and the surrounding areas, in Huelva, Spain and in Tianjin, China. I have taught a wide range of ages from nursery level to adult learners. Currently undertaking my Professional Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) at Strathclyde University, I look forward to the next steps in my teaching career in Scottish Secondary Schools. There will hopefully be more blog updates on this this year!
